What qualifies someone as a “Hero” on Date A Hero.com
We have come up with some basic categories to help our members figure out which Hero category they may fall. If we have not acknowledged your life risking profession and you believe we should consider it, please let us know by emailing us at info@dateahero.com. We will consider all inquiries.
Life Risking Heroes
(Free Access & Membership to DateAHero.com)

Firefighters- All ranks and agencies, career and volunteer, active or retired
Law Enforcement- All ranks and agencies of sworn officers, reserve officers, cadets active and retired
Military personnel- All ranks and branches active, reserve, and retired

If you actually put your life in jeopardy to help protect the public in your normal day-to-day operations of your career you qualify for free access and membership.

Verification
DateAHero.com is committed to verifying all Heroes. Since we are providing a completely free service to Life Risking Heroes and for the protection of our other members, we will require some information to verify your Hero status. When you complete your profile you will be asked to provide your name, department/branch, commanding officer or supervisor and a phone number so we can verify your Hero profession. We respect your privacy and will never divulge to your supervisor who we are and why we are verifying. We will simply state that we are just confirming employment and due to confidentiality we will say no more. If you prefer another way for DateAHero.com to verify your profession just let us know and we will take it into consideration.

Life Saving Heroes

Medical professionals- Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics, EMT’s, Respiratory Therapists, and anyone directly involved in patient care.
Educators- Consider the teacher who brings hope to children who may otherwise have no education. Education is the key to life.
Ocean lifeguards- Some of the best life guards in the world protect miles of beach during some major surf

Life Enriching Heroes

Artists- If you teach someone the art of becoming a dancer, singer, actor, performance artists, musicians, etc or bring them enjoyment by participating in these arts we honor the hero within you. In our stressed-out society, artists provide a much-needed reprieve from all the pressures of the day.
Athletes- If you have dedicated your life to sports or have received a scholarship for your sport abilities we like to honor your dedication
Business Owners- We think there are many business owners that truly care about their employees. Provide competitive wages in tough times, provide benefits, mentor their employee and make employees want to come to work and work is really a place they call family and home.
Attorneys- We are talking about selfless attorneys who do pro-bono work for those who cannot afford legal representation, and the Assistant District Attorneys who work for a government salary to make sure our streets are safe. Environmental lawyers who fight the big corporations to stop their polluting ways. If you are an attorney and you place yourself in this category we like to acknowledge you.

Nominated Heroes

If you know someone who you think is a “Hero,” because of who he or she is, or what he or she has done, then you may nominate him or her. Submit your nomination to our nomination team, which will review all entries and grant either a free full access- membership for one month or more, or a 25-50% discount off nominate membership and receive a Hero Nomination symbol near their name. DateAHero.com nomination team will choose one hero a month to receive this award.
We are looking for the selfless person who gives his or her time or self to better the life of others. Consider nominating the person who risks serious injury, or his or her own life, to rescue someone else in danger. This applies to the person who goes out of his or her way to take care of an elderly neighbor, and the person who always jumps out of his or her car to help a driver in distress. The brave person who runs into a burning building to save someone’s life will certainly get our approval.
If you know someone who is single and falls into these categories, please send in a nomination. We are looking for these people.
